The Desert Orthopedic Great Nordeen held Saturday March 17 is a celebration of Central Oregon ski history! Just once a year a trail is groomed through 30km of lava flows, hemlock, fir, and pine forest stands in remembrance of Emil Nordeen, the decorated Central Oregon ski pioneer. The manageable terrain and distance makes this point-to-point freestyle race a great event for first time racers and recreational skiers. Beginning at Mt. Bachelor, skiers will tour on the generally downhill course from the West Village lodge to the Wanoga Snow Park. Busses will shuttle competitors back to the West Village Lodge.  There will not be a skijoring or ski with dog category this year.     Detailed Race Information           Maps:  Trail Map          

Afterwards, make sure to attend Saturday night post-race festivities at 5:00pm at Webskis. The awards ceremony will feature raffle prizes, awards and hors d'oeuvres.  Family and friends are very welcome to attend.

• Bib and Race Packet pick-up at Webskis from noon-6pm, Friday, March 16, 2012. 
• The race packet includes; Course map & profile, Bus Schedule, Information on Awards Ceremony, Bib & Wave Classification, Sponsor Items and Coupons.

Seeding requests must be received by 5:00 pm March 16. The top 50 finishers from 2011 Great Nordeen will be put into 1st wave.  For any skiers not in last year’s top 125 interested in being in the first wave please submit: 3 different race results including name of race, distance, time, age placing and overall placing.

• Mar 8-14      $60.  NOTE: There will be no day of race registration. The last day for online registration is Thursday, March 14, 2012.  Registration can be done at Bib Pickup Friday, March 16 from noon-6pm at Webskis.
